2. Permission — Level 2

Summary: Leaders at this level have transitioned from leadership by title to leadership by relationship. People follow because they want to, having developed a liking or respect for the leader.


Application in Daily Work: Foster open communication. Listen to your team’s ideas, feedback, and concerns. Celebrate small victories and encourage team bonding activities. Prioritize interpersonal relationships and trust-building.

3. Production — Level 3

Summary: At this level, leaders not only have built good relationships but also deliver results. Their track record earns them respect. Leadership is about setting and meeting expectations.


Application in Daily Work: Focus on efficiency and results. Use time effectively, set clear objectives, and measure your outcomes. Encourage team members to set performance goals and help them achieve these. Demonstrating consistency in producing results will elevate your influence.

4. People Development — Level 4

Summary: Leaders here empower others. They replicate themselves by mentoring and developing those below them, creating more leaders, not just followers.


Application in Daily Work: Invest in the growth of your team members. Offer training opportunities, mentorship programs, and regular feedback sessions. Delegate tasks that help others grow. Remember, the success of your team members is your success.

5. Pinnacle — Level 5

Summary: At this ultimate level, leaders have a lasting influence and leave a legacy. They’ve created leaders who create leaders. Their leadership extends beyond their immediate circle, and they often influence sectors, industries, or even nations.


Application in Daily Work: Think big picture. What legacy do you want to leave? Work on large-scale projects that have a lasting impact. Mentor top-tier leaders in your organization. And always stay humble, understanding that leadership at this level is a blend of personal achievement and the contributions of many.
